DigitalExpo Complaint - Complaints about this company

Review by Tiger41 on 2007-04-08
FLORIDA -- I ordered a Kodak C875 online, at a cheap price from www.digitalexpo.com . I got an e-mail asking me to call to confirm, which I did.

I called the first time, a guy answered, very rude, abrupt and unprofessional..... He did not even listen to my questions, put me on hold for few minutes...when he returned, he told me that the camera was backordered, and it won't be shipped before 2 weeks... I said: wow why isn't it indicated on your website then?? he then put me on hold again, to return and then he said: well you won't be getting it, because it is sold out... I said: what??? you just told me it was BO... he hung up on me without listening to me or even trying to answer...
I thought he probably hung up by mistake, so I called back, to get the same guy. I asked his name, and he said: John. I asked him if it was him I spoke to and if he hung up on me... He started yelling at me, and said: How many f. time do I have to tell you it is sold out...and more... I did not let him yell at me, told him he was very rude, bad manners, and unprofessional and hung up on him.

I checked with my bank to block access to their company. I then checked online, and I found out tons of complaints about that company... What I am wondering is: isn't there laws against that kind of ripoff companies??? Why is Nexttag, pricegrabber...even have them on their list then??? Why are they still "advertising" them???

Makes you wonder Huh?????

The reason these places want a call is so they can sell you accessories. All you really get for their 'low' price is the camera. Items like the recharger, strap, lens cap and sometimes even the batteries are extra. Naturally if all is purchased is the camera it's suddenly on backorder and never will be in stock. This happened to my office manager in November. He purchased a video camera from an online store. When he called to confirm the order and refused the accessories the camera was on backorder for the next three months. He had his credit card company reverse the charge and purchased the camera direct from the manufacturer for a lower price.
