Congressional VW Rockville, MD Complaint - Poor Service from Dealership

Review by Goodie on 2007-04-11
ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND -- I purchased a 2007 VW 3.6T All Motion Wagon in last August 2006 and from the first week i had it at home i have had so many problems with the service dept not fixing the problems. It still makes this really loud noise from the steering wheel (not all the time) so when I take it in they say the can't hear it and tell me to pick it up the next day. I am so frustrated with them I am going try working with the Fixed Operations Director at the Dealership in order to get VWOA involved in this mechanical problem. Will let you know how it goes. However, at this point I will never recommend a VW to anyone again!

I'm a Toyota fan myself. My 4runner has been running solid for almost 8 years now!

Dealerships never seem to be able to "recreate the problem". It's so frustrating! I have a Chevy and it's been to the dealer a few times for a problem with the air conditioner and they never can get it to do what it does with me (RPMS jump when the air is on (not heat) and the car jerks forward). I just gave up because the only time they'll be able to recreate it is when my warranty is up I'll bet!!

Sorry to hear about your problems with VW's. I have had a Passat TDI for over two years now without a single issue and I love it. I did find out while researching my purchase that the Jettas and Bugs are manufactured in Mexico, while all Passats are made in Germany, so where the car is made may have something to do with the quality. That still doesn't excuse poor quality cars, VW should ensure ALL vehicles they sell are up to their standards, otherwise it gives all their cars a bad name.
