Sprint Nextel Complaint - Senior Citizen Alert - BEWARE of Sprint
October 2008; Well.. The 2 years is nearly done! come December, I'll finally be FREE to find a different cellular provider! I see that Verizon is offering a couple phones for people like us; the 'knack' & the 'coupe' ..and their plans aren't bad either. AT&T has one that might serve well too, however I've heard better reviews for Verizon customer service. I've had nearly 2 years to 'ask around', and believe me, I've heard some horror stories! Nonetheless, I do still feel badly about this whole Sprint experience. Our phones are now 4 years old, and still working well, though showing some major wear. The coverage is still good. But they never even bother to send me a bill, so I just pay what I 'think' I owe ..who knows what that's about?? and the fact still remains that the only reason I'm contracted to them is because they LIED to me. I can't trust people after they lie.. so that even if they offered me a free year (lol) ~ well, I'd want it in writing, that's for sure!!
Early Spring 2007; After two years of satisfactory service, I was called in December 2006 and asked to 're-sign', and was assured that my ONLY important request would be no problem.. Due to visual deterioration & desire for a BASIC phone, I was looking for a phone like the 'jitterbug' ~ EASY to see & use. The Sprint representative assured me that I would find what I was looking for at the Sprint Store; so I re-signed.. but they offer NOTHING even remotely similar to the jitterbug, and NO basic phones at all! Upon contacting Sprint, they offered no assitance, and I am now 'stuck'! This is POOR service, and in my opinion it is also cruel. Most seniors NEED a phone as a LIFELINE.. not a camera! not a game! not for internet & emails! Sprint should be ashamed for lying about something so important!
