Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Complaint - Samsung Rebates (NOT)
NEW ROCHELLE, NEW YORK -- 2/13/2002
I sent in two rebates for a Samsung PN 17LTPN computer monitor that I purchased.
1 for $20. And 1 for $30.
I called the Rebate center to make sure that I did everything correctly to minimize anything that could go wrong. I did EXACTLY as instructed.
The $30.00 Rebate to Samsung Offer #5713, P.O Box 1845, New Rochelle, NY10802-1845, with ORIGINAL store receipt, ORIGINAL UPC Bar Code, and Rebate Form.
The $20.00 Rebate to Samsung DITD Rebate OFR#5535, P.O. Box 821, New Rochelle, NY 10802-0821, with a copy of receipt, copy of UPC Code from the Box, Rebate Form.
3/26/2002 Called Rebate Center(800)578-8883 and spoke to Brenda about the Rebates not showing up on wheresmyrebate.com and she looked it up.
Even though the last part of the Zip codes of where the rebates were sent were different, BOTH rebates were LOST.
She said if I would Fax the rebates in (914) 633-8772, that it would be resolved.
I did FAX them immediately just as she instructed to Attn: Rebates, Resubmission, Resolutions and including Name and Address.
4/1/2002 I called them again and told Evelyn that it still didn't show approval on wheresmyrebate.com. She said it takes up to 2 weeks to process FAX submissions. I am to call back 4/8/2002
4/8/02 Only the $20.00 rebate showed approved on wheresmyrebate.com and the $30.00 rebate was rejected. This time I spoke with Erik. He spoke with his supervisor who told him that being that the $20.00 rebate was just showing up on the site, to wait to Friday (4/12/02) and the $30.00 rebate should show up. If by chance it don't they will approve it.
4/16/02 Called Rebate Center again and spoke with Juceyna. Told her that rebate.com still showed the $30.00 rebate 'denied'.
She said they were not going to grant a rebate because when I faxed the copies in the UPC was not on it. I checked my copy and I did not include a copy of the UPC. I do not have a copy of it and the original along with all of the originals were lost . (Remember, that when I sent in the rebates they went in two separate envelopes to two different zip codes. Bad, bad postal service for losing both of my rebates. (Ya right). I believe that Samsung actually pays a very small percentage of the rebates that should have been qualified. I also wonder how many of the 'approved rebates have the 'original' forms and UPC's with them and not FAX'ed or copies. I think they blame the postal service for loosing many. I still have not received any rebates from Samsung.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
My $20.00 and $30.00 would be nice.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
