Marathon Construction Informative - Poor service in hurrican protection
BOCA RATON, FLORIDA -- I gave company $13,000 to install hurricane shutters and storm windows in February 2006. Company did not start work until August 2006.
Company promised 1 day to install the shutters, and 2 days to install the storm windows. Company promised me the work could be done on weekends.
It is now April 2007. At the current time, the company has failed 2 inspections on the shutters and windows. That was after they missed at least half a dozen appointments, and sent several incompetent people over to my house.
Additionally, when someone did show up, the work took far longer than anticipated. Shutter work has already been 6 days, and window work 6 days. This does not count missed appointments.
Not only were the contractors incompetent, but the office was totally incompetent. If you spoke with one clerk, he would have no record of conversations with another clerk. There were never managers in the office.
There were, also, times when contractors arrived at your house, told you they needed to get a part, and promised to return within an hour. Not only did they not return, they never called you, never notified the office staff of their whereabouts, and left you sitting there all day. Meanwhile, the office told you they would be returning.
Many of the contractors who arrived at your house told you the company was incompetent, and just hired anybody. Additionally, the inspector fined the company the maximum. Additionally, the engineer told me, that they may be incompetent, but they were not dishonest.
I am currently suing. This is the worst company I have ever seen.
