Crazy for Irish Dance Informative - Scammer or just sort of crazy?
Okay, first off my beef here is not just with the company Crazy for Irish Dance, but also with Yahoo! stores for not taking responsibility for the store fronts which bear their name and logo. Last month, my fiancé and I purchased a pair of Irish ghillies (soft dancing shoe) from http://crazyforirishdance.com/ and when they did not ship in a timely manner, we emailed and politely asked when they would be shipping. The status on their site said 1-2 weeks, but after that time had passed we took the action of sending an email. The reply from the business owner indicated that they were out of stock but they would ship within another week. When they didn't, we asked that they please cancel the order.
They did, in fact, cancel but neglected to refund the payment (promptly charged to a CC upon purchase). After several emails over two weeks' time asking the owner to refund the payment, we finally simply disputed the charge with the credit card company (and, of course, won). The strange and unsettling part is that the business owner replied to our emails saying that her husband had been in a terrible car wreck, which is why she hadn't been on top of her business matters and that the credit card had expired so she had "dropped a check in the mail". Of course, the credit card had not expired and because there were several customer comments on this business' Yahoo! page saying things like, "I know that a death in the family can be hard, but..." and "I understand that personal problems can sometimes be priority over business matters, but..." this smelled strongly of scam!
So on top of disputing the charge, we also left consumer feedback on Yahoo's store page and sent a complaint to them about the company. Yahoo! failed to post our feedback or reply to our complaint!! I sent two emails asking them why they had neglected us when we were attempting to warn customers about a scam on their site and they came back "undeliverable"! (This is the email address they supply for this types of complaints and inquiries.)
So boo to Crazy for Irish Dance and boo to Yahoo!, too.
But, here's the punchline folks... Just a few days ago, we got a check in the mail...
(Yes, of course we tore it up!)
