DirecTV Inc Complaint - Can't get rebates or promised service
UTAH -- We switched from Dish to DirecTV in December 06 in order to upgrade to a DVR. We evaluated both companies and determined that at that time DirecTV had the best offer and rebates. I contacted them on their 800 number and signed up. After receiving January\'s bill, I had to call twice to get the price and programming they had indicated and didn\'t get the same thing, but an \"alternate offer.\" In March I received a rejection letter for our $100 rebate, and our free DVD player. I called and was told this was because we had not signed up with DirecTV directly, but with a retailer. After a good 15 minutes of having the guy look through our records, he finally agreed that I had signed up directly with DirecTV and that we should resubmit our claims and he would make the notes on our account. We received the same rejection and this time when I called they finally sent me to their \"Customer Retention\" dept. and I thought I\'d finally get this resolved. It didn\'t happen. She said at first said we bought through a secondary retailer, and finally after I kept telling her I had the a copy of their offer and our original authorization number she said we had ordered through another DirecTV department and not their direct sales department and were therefore not authorized for any rebates or gifts. I told her I called the number listed on their web site that outlines the offers and how can that be a different department and how could a customer possible know? She would only repeat that we didn\'t order through their direct sales department. When I asked to speak with a supervisor she said one would return my call within 48 hours. Are you surprised they never called back?
