Federal Express Corporation Complaint - Callous Service
NEW DELHI, NORTH DAKOTA -- We would like to point out the following:-
The shipment, Priority Envelope was picked up from El Paso, Texas, USA on the 5th of April 2007.
The contents of the package were an Official Pay to Order Check for US$9638.00 and two invoices which are mutilated.
We contacted FEDEX on the 11th of April 2007 and were told that due to some reason the package did not have any delivery address, which was claimed to be the reason for the delay. VERY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A SHIPMENT CAN BE PICKED BY FEDEX WITHOUT FULL INFORMATION, WE PROVIDED THE FULL DELIVERY ADDRESS TO ONE MR.HITESH. However the same was found to be untrue as the Mutilated FedEx envelope, has the full address of the sender and the receiver.
The shipment was in transit for over 7 days, which was deliberate as the shipment got damaged in Paris, France itself which is apparent from Exhibit A attached. The mutilated FedEx envelope with the mutilated contents were then put into a bigger FedEx envelope and delivered to us today, the 12th of April 2007.
We contacted the FedEx toll free to lodge a complaint regarding the damage and were told that their had been a fire mishap at one of the FedEx facilities and due to that the package was damaged. We were told that someone would contact us regarding the issue.
Mr.Amit from FedEx contacted us regarding the same. He told us that the package was received in the outer envelope from overseas and they had no knowledge of the mutilation till they opened the package, on the 11th of April 2007 evening, to check the contents, as the outer envelope had no contact details, which we had already updated to Mr. Hitesh on the 11th of April 2007.
Damage Resulting =
We want to know the following:-
Why the package was delayed? The normal time frame for any Priority Envelope is 48 -72 hours.
Why we were not informed about the mutilation once the FedEx executives came to know about the mutilation. Overseas and in India.
How does FedEx purpose to compensate for the delays and customer and service issue lapses?
The Official Pay to Order Check for US$9638.00 is totally mutilated how is not encashable. How will FedEx compensate us for the loss incurred on account of the mutilation of the check.
We are very disappointed with the service and the way of FedEx handling of the shipment. Please revert ASAP with a solution.
