United Airlines Complaint - Lengthy Wait Time for Refund
During the first week of March 2007 I cancelled a flight that was being delayed due to weather conditions. The ticket agent courteously issued me a refund certificate. Little did I know how long it would take to receive said refund.
It is now the 25th of April, 2007 and still no refund has been forthcoming. The company has told me that it could take two billing cycles for the refund to show up on my credit card account. I am almost at that point at this date.
My lesson learned in this situation: Do not allow the airline to lull you into a sense of security if they ask you to take a voucher for another flight due to their habit of overbooking. To obtain a refund for a ticket purchased with a credit card will tie up your money for at least two months.
