Michaels Informative - Poor Service - Art Framming

Review by yakimafrank on 2007-04-26
YAKIMA -- Michaels craft store is the worst place to take any fine art to be framed. I recently took in some art work to be framed and payed for preservation mount and when I received my art work back this was not done to the photo. The people hey have working in their framing department don't seem to have any respect or concern for others belongings. I also was informed by my Son that the person who took my order looked to be high on something. I think Michaels should be doing Drug screening especially when you have someone working with other peoples fine art work. I will no longer take anything into them to be framed.

That is unfortunate that they didnt care for your property like they should have. Also is your son an expert on drug use?

So, did you, or your son take this art work in?

"I think Michaels should be doing Drug screening..."
Because your son just THOUGHT the guy was high? That's balanced.
I have no equilibrium at all and can trip over air molecules and I'm sure some folks might think I'm drunk because of that...only I don't drink.
Don't make complaints based on assumptions, especially something like drug use.
Your otherwise valid complaint is sullied by your poor judgement.

'Fine art work,' and you take it to Michael's? You get what you pay for.

as a matter of fact yes my Son dos work in a field dealing with drug abuse. When you see someone working with red eyes and smells of majuana I think thats all the clue one would need to come to that conclusion that the person in high... So yes I do feel that Michaels should be doing drug screening.... They also need to teach their framers when you pay for a job it should be done the way its suppose to be done, I would have not known they didt do the mounting had my daughter in law pointed it.

If the employee actually smelled of pot, did your son inform management?
I'm sorry, but I find it really difficult to believe that someone working there would be reeking of marijuana like that and not be escorted out the door.
Something just doesn't gel here.

How do you know what pot smells like?

I dont find this hard to belive at all, I myself have had dealings with the store manager and she isnt a very concerned manager. As for the getting High part I can belive that also because some one that works their now is someone that has smoked me out on several occasions and yes this has been recent.... so yes I do agree if you are going to be working with peoples pricless art they should do drug testing. Because GOD knows the store manager dosnt take any responsobility for any mistakes that are made. Not only should they do drug testing they should really think about getting a new store manager... So Frank I dont find what you have said to be fabrications at all...

I use to work for Michael's for a couple of month (after I left Winn-Dixie). I don't know about your son's case, but I will say this:

When Michael's hire their employees they do NOT authorize a drug screening.

So I wouldn't be surprised if the guy was infact high.
