Sprint PCS Complaint - Asked to shorten contract, they lengthened it
I have been out of work for several months and so I called Sprint to ask if I could get out of my contract. I've had a phone since 2000 and they have extended my contract several times without asking me, so I felt maybe they would help me as a loyal customer. The woman said I would have to pay $150 ( it expires in Nov 07, 6 months to go) but she said they would be willing to reduce my monthly bill by $10. I thought that was better than nothing and saod OK. Now I get a notice a month later that my accepting the lower rate actually EXTENDED my contract for 4 more months. I couldn't believe it, I wanted to shorten the contract and they extended it, again without telling me. And I originally onle wanted to buy a new battery for my old phone and they said I could get a new one for free, which is how the contract got extended in the first place, but they never told me that it would extend.
