Hewlett-Packard Company Complaint - Defective Merchandise
PLATTSBURGH, NEW YORK -- We purchased a hp photosmart M425 for my son for Christmas, 12/24/06, and in April turned it on and the lens stuck open and it said it had a lens error(No kidding) . It would not close and brought it back to Walmart where it was purchased, with reciept, was told it was past 30 days and they could not exchange or return it, but I still had time to go through hp for a repair or exchange.Well,,, not so, because then I was told there warrenty was only good for 90 days, and it just ran out. I explained to customer services I paid 119. for the camera just three months before, which not is selling for 99.00, and just wanted it fixed or replaced, no refund.Well , this is there policy, and if I want, and can get it serviced for 79.00's, I'm thinking are you kidding me.So you want me to spend again over half of what I paid for a working piece of equiptment to make it work again, when this should have lasted much longer than three months, is that correct, is there any other way , I mean... its been used maybe three times.He says, well there's really nothing we can do , just that.So now we are stuck with a piece of garbage which is worth nothing, can't get it fixed, can't replace it , nice job hp.I can tell you and did on that phone, Myself, my family, everyone I can tell this story, don't buy from you. No matter what, why would someone buy a product from a company with such limited service.Only lasts three months, and after that , too bad consumer.I will also be looking into any sub companys to make darn sure I am not purchasing anything hp has there hands in.
