BellSouth Complaint - Misrepresentation of services
OPELOUSAS, LOUISIANA -- I was approached at the Cingular store by bellsouth representatives offering me bundle services. I signed up for 6.0 internet. It was quoted to me at a price lower than what I was paying for 3.0 at another company so I agreed. When it came time for installation the provided disk was not enough for completion and a service tech was sent to check out the problem. He said he could not help us since he did not have a tall enough ladder to reach the equipment. He said that the lines were to small and old and could not support 6.0 and was not available to us anyway. If I wanted to change my option he would have some one come and lower the lines and I could have service. At this time I thought I would be getting 3.0 like I had at the other company at a lower rate but NO he ment I might be able to get 1.5!! I have been connected at rates like 251.2 and 249.5 kilobits that don't even come close to the 1.5 that was to be installed and that I am to pay for. If I don't give them the price they want I will get shut off but they can give me whatever service they desire. Why is this fair?
