Gold's Gym International, Inc Informative - Reputation Tranished
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Gold's Gym is a very poor in handling my request to cancel membership. I sent a mail to them back in November 06 trying to cancel my membership, and I assume that's all it needs to stop paying them. But when I checked my account in March, I was surprised to find they keep charging me! When I called them, they said I have to send it as a registered mail! They claim it's written in the contract. That's fine, but what really troubles me is that they never inform me when they receive the mail, and they pretend nothing has happened. When I send it in the middle of the month, they claim it needs to be there for 30 days, so I am getting charged for one more month!
When I called them, the gym (to be precise, in Boston) manager and front desk people are rude and unhelpful. I would suggest everyone to stay away from this gym and be extra careful when cancelling their membership.
