Pella Complaint - Defective Product - Residential Windows

Review by NaniManu on 2007-04-30
DIAMONDHEAD, MISSISSIPPI -- Through Lowe's, bought three residential windows. Two for the bedroom and one for the kitchen. Concentrating on only the bedroom windows, could not get them to lock nor seal correctly. The kitchen one, mounted horizontally, was impossible to close, once opened. Two different installers tried to cure the problems. After almost a month, Pella sent two inspectors to look at the windows. I spoke to them on the phone, as I was at work at the time. The person I spoke to, to the best of my knowledge agreed with me that the windows were defective and they'd be replaced. Without any warning I received an email stating that the kitchen window was installed incorrectly, so that voided the warranty, not a word about the other two windows. I hold Lowe's as much responsible as Pella and the person that looked out for my best interest transferred. Along with another debacle on a set of glass folding doors, this has been going on for months.

Who installed them?

Obviously, it wasn't Lowe's. Two different local installers.

Pella claims no responsibility for their individual stores that are locally owned. Yes, Lowe's is not eprfect but Pella does not live up to their reputation at all; quite the contrary.

Pella will ALWAYS claim "installation error". Faulty products can not be installed correctly!
