Empire Carpet Complaint - Empire Left out floor bare of 5 Months; Lied to us; Then wanted us to pay in full. Plus the carpeting sucks
NEW HAMPSHIRE -- About 3 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, we decided to get new carpets in out living room and the new baby's room and hallway( which was small). We called Empire. With the next day service, they claimed, we went for it. A sales lady came out, with samples. She we decided, on the colors that would be great in both rooms. So, the lady marked on her calendar, 2 days would be the next available time for the carpet guys. Great, everything way set. We moved everything, all out furniture into our little kitchen. They showed up on time. A+ And when a white, van pulled up, I was wondering who are these guys? They looked like ex-cons. So we stayed the whole time the put the carpets in. I didn't want them stealing anything. When they finished, the carpets looked great! But, they said they didn't have enough for a small area in the baby's room and for the whole hallway. So they made an appointment, for next week. Well, after not showing, I called Empire. They told me, "there was a fire in the warehouse, today." and, "It will take a few more days." I was like, hmmm, ok. That turned into another 2 weeks! nothing, called back. They told me the same thing.I was pissed. We didn't have a hallway, for almost 5 months! I called Help Me Hank, on the News. I got a lawyer. And in the end, instead of paying the whole $2,000.00. We only payed, $500.00. Although the carpets aren't perfect, the do well, for the price we paid. And the crap we went through. My advice, NEVER get your carpet or anything done at Empire Carpet. They send subcontractors, who make their own schedules. They will over charge you, for what you can do yourself or have a professional do for you. If something like this does happen to you, BE PERSISTENT! IT pays!
