Farmers Automobile Insurance Assn Informative - Claims - paying for medical bills

paying for medical bills
Review by tarrgg on 2007-05-01
MURRAY, UTAH -- Farmers Claims places themselves above the law by bribing a doctor, Brent Bowen M.D., in my case. Bowen refused to recommend treatment for
possible brain injury which has now been identified. Farmers refuses to pay for the testing or the rehabilitation of learning to walk, control my body in space, learning to cut with scissors and all the other skills lost through my lost memories.

The money is available but Farmers refuses to pay for these costs. Mere laymen have placed themselves above the law and are picking and choosing what they will pay for leaving me with thousands of rehab bills to pay.

It sounds like you might want to consult an attorney. If you have another doctor that feels differently from their doctor and is willing to testify on your behalf, so much the better. If you suffered those type of injuries, this could end up costing them some serious money. Good luck!

Yes, go see an attorney and another doctor. Did Dr. Bowen just do an IME or is he your doctor?

At one time, I bought a Honda Gold Wing, and went to our insurance carrier in Casa Grande, AZ, Randy Abbot Agency. This company carried all of our insurance, car homeowners, health, the whole ball of wax. They quoted me a payment plan and deposit, and issued me a binder. Less than a week later, they sent me a letter with a check for about half of what I had paid on deposit. They said they could not insure me, so would give mee two weeks coverage to find other insurance. I called and talked to the secretary and was informed that they could not insure me because I did not have insurance the previous year. I pointed out that the previous year, I did not own a motorcycle. The girl said that wasn't relevant, that they required previous similar insurance. I expressed my disbelief that the fact I had never in my life filed a claim of a motorcycle incident meant less than if I had insurance the year before. What it all came down to was that we pulled every bit of insurance from the agency, I went to GEICO and got the Wing insured, and our other insurance went to other companies.

Been screwed by Farmer's Insurance one too many times here and am fed up. Just do a search on "Ethel's Bill HB 2415" and you will see how low Farmer's will go to avoid paying claims. They have been rated as one of the worst companies out there by many consumer agencies.

Sure, their commercials give that warm fuzzy feeling, but when it comes to a claim, Farmer's will do everything possible to deny or stall payments.

Neither Farmer's nor their agents are ever be trusted to do the right thing.
