Faresonline.com Complaint - Mishandling airplane reservations
CALIFORNIA -- Last August, I purchased 2 round trip air flights to Venice, Italy through Faresonline.com. With Faresonline.com you can check your ticket prices then call them and talk to an agent. I picked specific times and airline for the departure and return flights. In January 2002, I called the airlines and was told the departure flight time and airline was changed to a very undesirable time. This change was made by the travel agency without our approval or knowledge. I contacted the agency who claimed to know nothing about this. I asked the agent to give us a different flight because the changed flight was so bad. He did. One week later I called the airlines and the return flight was changed by the travel agency without our approval or knowledge. I called the travel agency again. They claimed that the ticket wholesalers changed the flight. The agent said he would contact the wholesaler and get our flights changed back to the original ones. I talked to the owner of the travel agency who backed up the agent. Nothing was ever done to rectify the situation. We had to use the changed, less desirable flights. I want customers to be wary of this company. They offer certain flights at a bargin price then feel very free to make changes at will without notifying the customers. If I had not called the airlines and kept on top of the situation, we would have had to flown at 12:00 midnight.
