Target Complaint - Baby registry
GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I registered at Target as well as Babies R Us when I was pregnant with my daughter. I received some baby gifts that were either duplicates or items I didn't intend to use. I even had the gift receipts for some of the items.
Target would not allow me to return the items on my registry, gift receipt and all, because of my due date. According to Targets "policy", you have a certain time span before you give birth and then you have to wait a certain number of weeks after you give birth to return items on the baby gift registry. How much sense does that make????
To add to my frustration, I tried to return a carseat I had registered for. When my daughter was a few months old and outgrew her infant carseat, I tried putting the carseat in my car but it didn't fit in the back seat properly. But because the carseat went on clearance at some point (after it was purchased at full price), they would only give me the clearance price. The price was less than half of what it was originally. I even had the registry print out for what the carseat was at the time of purchase.
Babies R Us and Walmart took back every single item they carried, no questions asked. I would never recomend anyone register at Target.
And trust me, whenever one of my friends is getting married or is having a baby, I make sure to tell them the hell I went through trying to return items at Target. The funny thing is, most of them tell me they have already been warned and have no intention of registering there.
Being a first time mother is hard enough. Who wants to argue with a store manager on something that should have had an easy solution. Maybe that's your point, but that is very poor service.
