iKitchen.com Informative - Sold me a refurbished item - notice carefully positioned not to be seen
Regarding website ikitchen.com: I ordered a Cuisinart Supreme Coffee Grinder from this site. Same price as Sam's Club, but plus shipping. When I got it, it was refurbished. Instead of an 18 month warranty, it has a 90 day warranty. I checked the listing. Far down the page, in very small pint it says Factory Renewed. I emailed to request a refund, I was given several apologies and told: I must pay round trip shipping PLUS a 15% "restocking fee." In other words, it will cost me %25 to get a $20 refund.
I am 67, my vision is good with my glasses, I shop several times a week on the internet. I have never missed a "refurbished" notice before. This one was position so that I wouldn't even think to look at that area of the listing, (I have already bought several of these elsewhere as gifts, so I read the description, until I came to the "Shipping and Returns" button, which I clicked on, and where it said nothing about the item not being new.
A kind of internet scam that is particularly hard on older people. And the company is adamant about their position, knowing that in today's consumer climate, they will be held to no higher standard..
