Harbor Monsoon Restaurant Complaint - Bad Service - Worse Food

Review by thfcbrown on 2007-05-12
GIG HARBOR, WASHINGTON -- My family & I have eaten at the Harbor Monsoon restaurant in Gig Harbor for 10 years and always enjoyed it. Tonight? The service was awful & the food? We had a hitchhiker - a fly in our soup!!!

After picking up our take-out order of almost $100, we found upon inspection at home that a dish was missing. I phoned the restaurant to let them know there was a problem & was told to count the boxes??? I know what I ordered & I knew the Fried Rice wasn't there.

While I was on the phone with the owner - Chef Louie - my daughter was dishing up her soup and found a small fly in the soup. Quickly, I became restaurant enemy #1 - I was told "you don't put this one on me!"

In fairness, Chef Louie angrily told me if I wanted to, I could come back for the rice. No thanks - I don't know what else might be in there.

I honestly don't need a free meal - just wanted the one I paid for... Chef Louie must believe the customer is always wrong, right?!

Summary: DON'T EAT HERE!!!

Harbor Monsoon is a strange name for a restaurant!

I remember they used to have a Chinese restaurant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan called the "Fu King Kitchen"!

Bababooey, we have a Yong Hoe. No lie!

Thfcbrown, in all sincerity, you stated you had eaten at the restaurant for 10 years and always enjoyed it. I don't recall a positive review from you complimenting this establishment in the past. $100.00 for a take out meal at a Chinese restaurant? How many were you feeding?

You, being a customer of 10 years, should be on a first name basis with Chef Louie. Why would he question your complaint? Just curious.

Brenda, watch those Hoe comments. They can get you into a heap of trouble. lol

I agree with Nohandle and for a $100.00 worth of Chinese food you must have had a car load???

I heard that there was a restaurany almost ready to open, serving a full menu fo Mexican food and drinks. Fortunately, there was a member of the city council who spoke Spanish, and the restaurant owner was told he had to cover the sign until he could get it changed, but he could not use the name he had planned on. The name? C.O. Jones Mexican Eatery. Think about it. If you don't understand, email me for the explanation.

C.O. Jones? What does that mean?

Did you ever hear of Dirty Sanchez's Mexican Restaurant?

Oh, I get it...

Cojones (Spanish for balls) Duh!
