Newport Pacific Capital Company Complaint - Chater Oak Mobilhome Estates owned and operated by NewPort Pacific Capital Company, Inc.
SAN DIMAS, CALIFORNIA -- Last October my brother and I inherited our late father's 1980 mobil home which is situated in a seniors only mobilhome park in San Dimas, CA. After putting in substaintial money and time into re-conditioning it inside and out and having listed it for over 5 months, we at last had a cash buyer. The only problem was the mobilhome managers harassed our buyer to the point that he pulled out of the deal. There was no logical reason for this because the buyer had great credit and plenty of money. Yet, they insisted that his brother co-sign in order to for him to be approved for the Park. The realtor said that the whole thing was over $40 dollars that the mobilhome park wanted for some reason. Meanwhile, we lost our only buyer which was supposed to be a done deal and are now faced with another month of space rent to pay and no new prospective buyers. We have no agreement to abide by any of their rules and regulations but we have faithfully paid our fathers space rent for 6 months and have done the outside maintainence as they required. This hardly seems fair to us. The real estate agency also says they have a lot of trouble getting their clients into this Park because they literally pick them to death. Is there any thing we can do? We feel like offering to let the Park buy the mobil home for $25,000. and let them put some one to their liking in it. Do you have any other suggestions? Please advise and thank you very much for providing this forum.
