I leased a new truck from a Mazda dealer four years ago,the taxes for the truck were suppose to be included in the lease price. Then they tried selling me there new car value replacement insurance. The person selling it at the dealer tells me they pay the franchise take care of everthing and replace the car no problems. Well, in January I was away on vacation when I came back the truck was gone filed the police report and contacted the insurance. The lease was up two months after that. After contacting them 30 days later the dealer is rushing me into the showroom for me to choose a new car, the salesman was too pushy wanting me to take it right away, which I found strange cause there was no insurance settlement yet. I told him I'd wait to see what the insurance company was offering. When I noticed the bill he made to the insurance company he over charged 3500$ three days later I confront him about it and he gives me attitude and tells me not to worry that that is only for them and that he will charge me the 12500$ buy back only and give me a 3000$ check. This week he calls me in to tell me that the insurance sent the numbers and if I want to go in and pick up my truck. I sit down with the salesman andhe's telling me that he has a 3027$ check for me and all the bells and whistles. I then realize that they added that 3027$ to the credit loan, so they weren't giving me a check the just asked for 3000$ on my loan to make it seem like they were giving me a check.now my buy back instead of 12500$ is 18400$ according to them and if I don't agree to pay it I lose the 11000$ credit for the new car. My advice is never take the insurance the dealer offers, it's their way of backing you into a corner.
