CVS Complaint - Horrible Service CVS Pharmacy - Pharmacy, Marshfield, Mass. 02050

Pharmacy, Marshfield, Mass. 02050 - Complaint
Review by cvs pharmacy stinks on 2007-05-14
MARSHFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS -- They told me my prescription was ready for refill, as it should have been. When I went to pick it up, they had no record of my calling and said ok they would refill it, but it wasn't ready. Then they said, there was no refills after I stood there waiting for over an hour.

By then my doc's office was closed. So, I called my doctor the next day. Doctor said YES she did call in the prescription and ALSO faxed it in.

I went back to CVS they claimed the doctor never called. So once again, it was the weekend and my doctors was closed. They would not even SPEAK to me about refilling my prescription. So i called the doctor on call who prescribed only two for Sunday evening.

When I went to pick up the one the doctor on call prescribed they told me to NEVER CALL THE DOCTOR ON CALL AGAIN!!!!!! THEY EVEN WROTE IT ON MY PRESCRIPTION BOTTLE.

Finally, today MONDAY my doctor called them and inquired why they didn't give me the prescription, that she ordered. They said they never got her fax, my doctor was even irate at this as she called and faxed several times.

I am so sick of CVS pharmacy and their screwups.

My friend used to work in the pharmacy and said she had NO TRAINING but was responsible for filling prescriptions. She quit as she said that she was very nervous that she wasn't putting the proper medicine into the bottles, and would never want to mix up anyones prescription, but when she asked for assistance, they were brief with her, and acted if she was a bother. She walked out on the job. She has been working in a doctor's office for 6 years ever since, and still will not refer CVS pharmacy to her patience.

Sorry to hear about your prescription problem, but by the way what medicine was being prescribed?

On the South Shore, pharmacies are literally a dime a dozen. If you were warned about CVS, why ever go there?

Wow. Hey I've noticed that in a town near me, there are listings for two seperate CVS Pharmacies, with 2 seperate addresses, but only one seems to exist. I wonder what would happen if my doctor opened the phone book and called the wrong one?

I am not saying this is the case, since I absolutely don't know. I'm just saying, gee, wonder where the error came in- is CVS really tossing faxes and ignoring them, or is there a miscommunication somewhere?

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't warned about CVS by the person who worked there until AFTER I told her the story.
And the phone number was verified on the fax from the doctor. I have the 2 faxes and the receipts that they were successfully sent.
I don't think CVS ignores faxes as a rule, and maybe not even often, but it's not for me to do the detective work as I have the PROOF that they were sent.
I don't think this is a miscommunication, but either careless customer service, or downright calculated hardship that was placed on me, due to my persistance in getting my medication which was prescribed as they denied.

This same pharmacy put some other man's presciption medicine in my bottle 7 years ago, when I was taking pre natal vitamins, and put my pills in his bottle. I am lucky that I inquired if the "vitamins changed" because...well it's morbid to even say. But I "let that go", because there was only potential harm done and thought it would be a one time mishap.
CVS PHARMACY in Marshfield, MASS. has the worst customer service attitude and makes a lot of mistakes.
My complaint is valid. I am sure if others in town knew of this website, there would be more complaints written here.

If you are talking about confirmation from your doctor's office it is not a guarantee that CVS got it. It might be a confirmation that they have faxed something to certain #, not a confirmation of an addressee receiving it. If it was just written in your chart it is not really a confirmation. I work at the pharmacy and I needed a refill on daughter’s medication I called my doc’s office and asked for a refill. They said to have my pharmacy fax a request and they would do it for me. I didn’t have to too far. I faxed it to them myself twice (just in case) and waited for 3 days. I never got a reply from them. I called them back in 3 days asking where my refills were. The nurse said that pharmacy never faxed them, on which I replied that it was a bs because I faxed it myself. The lady got confused for a second and said she would find out what happened. One more day later I faxed them another request (to the same fax #) saying that I would have to find a new doctor if a refill request for seizure meds takes that long. They called me back within 15 min. The moral of this story is, you never know who is telling the truth if you didn’t do it yourself. Besides, 95% of the times nurses call prescriptions in, not doctors, as many patients think. Docs can be very nice and knowledgeable but “err is human” and even docs have to rely on their staff, which sometimes is worthless.

I'm very sorry to hear you had a hard time with getting your medicine. However, I must always emphasize that Pharmacies fill prescriptions, its the patient's job to get the prescription and monitor when he/she will need a new one.

Im my experience it goes both ways.. people saying we should have got a vicodin prescription, they called their MD and they said they sent it, then WE call MD and they deny ever prescribing..
It's a blame game.. welcome to reality.

Comes down to he said she said. You have NO way of proving CVS received the fax or phone calls. I'm sorry but that's unfortunately how it is. And CVS can check and see in the computer if the doctor called in the prescription to a different CVS pharmacy so i wonder if they tried that.

CVS is a pharmacy that fills prescriptions. so why would they lose a prescription expecially if it was called in and faxed. And the only way that the pharmacy "never call the on call doctor again" is if the on call doctor specifically said that. The sad thing is is that it was prob called into another pharmacy.
