PC Richards Complaint - Intrest Free Financing

Review by hammie on 2007-05-18
WOODBRIDGE, NEW JERSEY -- I obtained a PC Richards credit card. It was stated that all purchases would be interest free from 1 year of purchase date. In reviewing my last bill I find that PC Richards was charging me 22 plus interest from the date of purchase. I was left owing them more money after makeing a payment. The way they have the system set up, you will never pay for your purchase. You will owe them more money each month even if you don't make a purchase. Its companies like this that create a market for people to file bankruptcy. I was tempted, because of the unethical practice used by this company. Why tell me that its interest free and then charge me iterest from the date of purchase. This is poor customer service. I wonder how may other poor people that they have cheated in this way. This is loan sharking to me. Please help.
Thank you.

I just checked their website. The no interest purchases is only valid on specific items for specific time frames. It does not state "all purchases" are interest free. The interest rate is clearly spelled out.
Let this be a learning experience. Read everything involved BEFORE you act. Make significantly more than minimum payments and you will reduce the balance.

Or at least look at your FIRST bill to see the finanacing. I always check when doing one of those XX months free interest.
