On March 2, 2002, I applied and was approved for 2 credits cards through the website "yourfreedvds.com"- although advertised that 120 points would be applied for each of the approvals to my "yourfreedvds.com" account - only 100 points were applied.- because there is no telephone number
provided, an email request was sent asking that the additional 40 points be added. Receiving no response, the message was resent on April 17, 18, 19, and 22- evoking a response from David Yoo, VP Operations stating he had "terminated" the account "due to your harassing nature". He was again informed that 1082 points had been credited to my account , of which (1000 point value) was to be used to acquire their advertised Sony DVD player . Further, that upon application of the additional 40 points owed to my account, he was to also send the (100 point value) DVD "Pi". On April 24, he responded, "Your account has been terminated and we are not obligated, as stated by our Terms of Service, to recognize any points accumulated or awarded henceforth. Please cease all communications with us."
This operation appears to be a "sham" and far from "legitimate". Evidently,
they gather and sell the personal information received from people accessing their website. Mr. Yoo and Mr. Chan have been informed that their failure to provide the merchandise ordered has necessitated the filing of letters of complaint and requests for investigation by the State of California Office of Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau of San Jose, California.
