Lloyd's Grill Complaint - Fire The Cook - Eat there if you dare

VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON -- Lloyd's Grill, on SE 162nd in Vancouver, has recently changed hands. It used to be a sports bar, and in fact still is, but whoever is doing the cooking is a public menace. I ordered a french dip with a side of potato salad -- harmless, right? The meat was GREEN and it had been microwaved to the consistency of a manila envelope. No taste at all. Put that aside. I tried the potato salad...large cold chunks of cooked potato and not too much else. No flavor except for potato. The waitress felt sorry for me, said I didn't have to pay, and brought me a cup of "clam chowder". What it was was cold watery potato soup with chopped freeze-dried vegetables and some bacon bits. I searched and searched -- not a clam to be found.

My husband did better than I did -- chicken strips are the same no matter where you go and he was nice enough to share with me. We agreed that there was no use going back. The waitress was nice enough, and when I pointed out that we were the only ones in the restaurant, she said they had big crowds on Friday and Saturday nights for the live music....nice they have something to keep the doors open and the bills paid, it sure isn't the cooking.

You noticed the meat was green and still ate it? Yuck.

I had one bite, noticed something was VERY wrong, and looked. That did it for me...showed the waitress, she looked sort of queasy.

Mizliz, I know about green meat...went to a restaurant in Coolidge AZ and they served me an open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. I looked at my husband and said..."the meat is GREEN", both my husband and the waitress said no, it wasn't green, I had a lime green shirt on and it was reflection off my shirt. I ate the potatoes but asked for a to go box for the meat and bread, brought it home and threw it in the freezer to keep it at that same stage. The next day my husband took it out of the freezer, we were both wearing white shirts and the meat was still green. They wouldn't make it good at the restaurant and we didn't go back till they changed hands again. Now the food and the service is great.

The meat was reflecting your shirts? Give that waitress an A in creative excuses....

Lloyd's Grill is closed, for which we can all be thankful.
