NexgenLabsUSA Complaint - Phenterthin diet pill

Complaint
Review by vickijo on 2007-05-21
I received a email from this company about a new diet pill call phenterthin, I received this offer for 4.95. I order, received pill, which didn't work. About 20 days later I received a 149.95, bill on my bank account form this company. I was shock, I didn't order any more pills from this company or any other. My first order of pill was from a company call usaveonpill.com. They not only change company name to nexfenlabs usa, but charged me a 149.95 fee. I email the first company many times. They finally told me they were the wrong company, and to email the other company nex. All morning long I have got one round around after other, I still have not got to talk to anyone personal. Do not order from either company, it is a big mess, they didn't make it clear that I would be charge 149.95 fee and more pill would be mail to me, if I didn't cancel. Or if I canceled It would be cost me a 49.95 fee, what a shock to me and my bank account.

Directly from the terms and conditions on their site:

"If you are enjoying Phenterthin, do nothing, and we will place you on the AP Program 20 days after your trial order. We'll bill the same credit card information you have used for this transaction for the amount of $149.95. This will include two 60ct bottles of Phenterthin (Value 169.95) (+ Free E-Gifts)That is a savings of $50.00! You are obligated to AP Program by hitting the submit button."

What's even more disgusting is that they charge you $49.95 to cancel the program.

Hopefully the bank can get your money back. Next time don't even open your junk email.

Wow! A pill that makes you lose weight!! And it "didn't work?" I am "shock!"
You mean all that hard work in the gym is nothing? Eat whatever I want and chase it down with my "magic weight loss pill?"
Don't the directions say to take the pill with a jumbo peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream shake? Or better yet, smash the pill between two pieces of bacon?

Diet pills are the ultimate rip off...please think again before providing you bank account info. Better luck in the future

Gando, your opinion is caustic and rude. The poster was complaining mostly about having funds withdrawn without her knowledge. Your comment serves no purpose here.

Gando - You are right those diet pills do not work, and are usually scams, but you could have been a bit polite here. Also like emt cays the complaint is more about money taken from her card without her knowledge, not about the pills not working.

Using common sense would have eliminated this problem altogether. I appreciate your input, mr mafia and emt c, but I stand by my opinion. If I got this email in my inbox, it would be deleted immediately.

It is also really beneficial to read the fine print on anything before blindly buying something.

Oh, and if you see in the posters complaint, she does indicate the pill didn't work in the first sentence.

if you read the terms and conditions, they tell you to do nothing and they'll charge you $149.95 and send you more pills. if you cancel (within 15 days) here are the charges: $49.00 for the "free" pills, and $49.95 for cancelling. try reading their terms before you agree to anything. and, i don't think you were rude Gando. people don't use common sense, and this kind of thing makes them realize how dumb they're being.

I also ended up makingthe mistake of giving this offer a shot (it was to get a giftcard from another site). I tried to cancel as soon as I found the stipulations of the trial offer and then found this and other sites noting the consequences that have occured, so I contacted my bank and they notified me that they can cancel my checkcard and issue me a new one to avoid any further charges by this company...they did offer to do a block from them doing any charges, but they have to know the exact ammount that would be charged and the exact company name used , so getting a new checkcard # is the easiest and most effective option since this company can use a variety of names...

This comment is in reference to the Phenterthin diet pill. Yes, okay I was a bit stupid to even bother with it, but I did and I also read the fine print first! It said you could cancel within 15 days and only be charged $49.95 instead of the $149.95. Well, when I went to cancel and I called, I got a message telling me to request a "Support Ticket" on the website, which I did 2 or 3 times with no response. I returned the trial pills unopened and I also returned the second shipment unopened. I disputed the charges with my credit card company and they came back recently saying I have to pay it because of the fine print. Well I am not one to take something like that lying down and I think the Phenterthin people are operating under deceptive business practices...just my personal opinion based on personal experience. Just to get the word out there of how serious I am: I have filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Better Business Bureau and I also filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office under Consumer Protection. I urge anyone that has suffered through this injustice to do the same...there IS power in numbers and fraudulant companies should be stopped.

They tell you how to cancel within a 15 day window; however, they make it impossible to do so. The Better Business Bureau and the Okalahoma Attorney General Office is on the internet and you can fill the forms out on line and just submit. I did! Thanks for your attention.

Gando's response was rude when they added: "You mean all that hard work in the gym is nothing? Eat whatever I want and chase it down with my "magic weight loss pill?"
Don't the directions say to take the pill with a jumbo peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream shake? Or better yet, smash the pill between two pieces of bacon?"
Gando's implying that the poster has poor eating habits and/or doesn't work out. That was rude. Saying we should use common sense wasn't.
All we know is that the pill (for whatever reasons) didn't work and her bank account was accessed inappropriately.
I realize this complaint is old, but the information provided was valuable as a "head's up" to us all and I don't feel condescending statements to the poster should be encouraged.
My 3 cents worth.
