Endicia Complaint - Stamp with more than a 75% mark up. WOW.

PORTLAND, OREGON -- So, I am beyond frustrated with Endicia service at this point. I just signed up on the 14th. My intention was to print my own postage. I didn’t want to have to run each envelope through my printer to “post” it. I would rather walk to the post office and lick the old fashioned stamps. This can’t be what was intended. Who would do this???? So, I went to buy the instapostage- not available- back ordered. I went through the steps because maybe I can place my order and then they’ll come when they’re in. So, I did. Ordered 2 sets at 3.95 apiece for a grand total of $7.90 cents. Then they're going to charge me $7.55 cents for postage. All I can think to say at this point is…”are you high?” How can a service like this charge $7.55 to mail a very small unit of paper. Phooey on 7.55.

Think about what this means… .158 cents for the “instapostage” stamp and then another .15 cents on top for postage. That makes it .72 cents for a stamp. NOT INCLUDING THE COST FOR THE MONTHLY SERVICE of 9.99 for the basic. Again, I ask…why would anyone EVER do this. I must be missing something. I have looked and looked but this is what I come up with each time. I did utilize the Dazzle software to mail a book. Very exciting. I was able to test it out before printing actual label. Really cool. The excitement from the book mailing is long over. Now I am annoyed with the next step. I have exactly 3 weeks left on the “free trial” and I would really like to keep this service. My other option was pitney and stamps.com. Both reasonable alternatives for my postage needs. My hope is for someone to clear up my obvious confusion as to the user friendly and cost effectiveness of Endicia.

So, am I missing something? I must be for why would they still be around if they're charging almost a 75% mark up on a stamp. We thought the USPS were taking advantage with an increase ever year or more at least now they have the increase in gas argument...but what about these guys? I will keep you updated as to the outcome of my issue.

You should have gone with your first thought, "I would rather walk to the post office and lick the old fashioned stamps" and saved money.

Sounds like this is just a waste of your time and money.

This is just a SWAG, but I'd say a company that has a high volume of outgoing mail would benefit from Endicia's services. For an individual, it probably isn't worth it.

So it's been three days. I still haven't heard a thing from Endicia. Hmmmmm, very interesting.
