Fruit Basket Today Complaint - Non-delivery of purchase

On May 17, 2007 I purchased a large gift basket from "Fruit Basket Today" for delivery on May 21, 2007. No delivery. May 22, 2007 I called "Fruit Basket Today" and was put on hold for a long time. When they came back they said they had to transfer me to "Florist Express" which "handled the order". Florist Express had the order in front of them, but it had never been processed. Since my folks' anniversary had passed, I told them I wanted a full refund - but they were not happy about it. After reading other complaints about Florist Express adding extra charges on their patron's credit cards - I called "Fruit Basket Today" and they refused to tell me what charges they put on my credit card. I'm calling my credit card company to cancel any charges related to that order. After researching the net a bit, I found that "Florist Express" is used by several companies which claim same-day delivery; "Blooms Today" "Fruit Basket Today" etc., and folks have had a lot of problems with them.

You are ALWAYS better off locating a local florist in the recipient's area. You won't pay service charges (and you ALWAYS do, even if not stated, they simply shrink the size of the gift to cover these "costs". You will also have a direct number to the delivering florist, if problems occur or changes are necessary.
