Consumers Suzuki Complaint - Liars for Salesman - New and Used Car Sales

Review by Megan25wl on 2007-05-23
BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN -- This dealership is terrible. I would never recommend anyone goes there. I was told I would be buying a 2005 Chevy Equinox for $13,000 and it would have new tires and be cleaned out when I went to get it. We worked out payments of $350 a month. Before leaving the day I was supposed to buy the car, I called (I live some distance away) and spoke to Mike. (Carol was our sales rep, but she had the day off) He said they would never put new tires on a car before a sale. He also said anyone that thought that they could get a 4WD for under $400 is out of their mind. I explained that this is what Carol had told us. He treated us like idiots. He lost a sale. I asked for his manager, and he said he was the manager. On paperwork we had received it said the manager was someone named Tom McDonald. I asked for Tom and he told me he had no idea who that was. I called about an hour later and they said Tom was at lunch.

On Monday, Carol called to ask what had happened. I told her the entire story and again asked who Tom was - she explained he worked for the bank in Texas. I called today (Wednesday) and asked for Tom - GUESS HE WAS BACK FROM TEXAS BECAUSE HE WAS THERE! Tom was worse than Mike. Realizing they lost the sale, he was as rude as can be. Telling me that they never said the payment would be under $350. I explained that I even had an answering machine message from Carol. Tom refused any contact information for the owner - but did tell us his name is John Bender. A lot of help that does. These people are all liars.

So you didn't buy the car or give them any money? If so, good for you. People need to not let these bad dealers take advantage of them with their lies.

What? Some automobile salsemen are liars? Please tell us something that we don't already know! In the future, when negotiating with a car salesman, get their deal or promise in writing!

What was the term of the loan? This is what I see from my credit union:

Loan Calculator Results
Given a purchase amount of $13,000.00.
An interest rate of 6.000%,
A term of 36 months.
Your monthly payments will be $395.49.

Payment Schedule for 36 payments of $395.49

Consumers is a 100% SCAM from the getgo. Glad I just made 1 phone call rather than went there for anything. They have a false front as a bank, no one ever calls you back and no one is ever available to receive a call. Do NOT do business with this company- they are in fact a S-C-A-M.

So you gave them no money/deposit and tried to get them to put new tires on the car? I don't know any dealer that would do that. Did you expect them to put in a sunroof without a deposit also?
