Geico Corporation Complaint - Geico refuses to reimburse a claim
Resolution Update on 04/24/2008:
Geico finally came through
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- A vehicle hit my parked car in a parking lot. A witness saw the whole thing (I was not present at the time) and provided me the make of the car, color, license plate and a brief description of the driver. I filed this claim with Geico who requested I pay the $500 deductible for damage repair. Also I had additional damage caused by me and was required to pay $500 for that since it had to be filed separately. Total I paid was $1000 for $1200 worth of work.
Now Geico got in touch with the witness but because the witness described the car as red Geico refuses to reimburse my claim because, according to them, the car is brown and those are two separate colors that should not be confused. The other information was correct.
I informed Geico that after I filed the police report I spoke to the man who hit my car and yes he was indeed in that parking lot. He would not admit that he hit my vehicle.
Geico is only out for themselves. Because he is insured through them they refuse to pay and will go through any scandalous length to not reimburse for those damages.
I have been with them for almost 10 years now this being my first claim. This is how I have been treated and I will take my business elsewhere.
