Lloyd's Grill Vancouver Complaint - Ribs and dining experience
VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON -- Located on SE 164th Ave near Regal Cinema. Across the street from Nautilus World Headquarters.
My wife and I arrived at 7 PM Friday night to a nearly empty parking lot, and a empty restaurant. (Which should have been a hint on what was to come). The only people in the restaurant were band members setting up for the live music at 9 PM. The air conditioning was on full blast so we decided to eat out on the patio since it was a warm night and a more comfortable temperature than inside. Outside there were four tables with people at them and one table with two children under it and one running child running amok among the other diners. The children were obviously bored and ignored by their parents at the next table. Food and trash littered the patio.
Shortly after being shown our table the server arrived. She took our drinks, chipotle onion rings appetizer and entree orders. The onion rings came with a chipotle dipping sauce and were plentiful and delicious. Cost $6.25.
Both of us ordered the half rack St. Louis Ribs, which arrived shortly after we finished the onion rings. The racks were good sized for half racks. Unfortunately they were mostly bone and sparse on meat. What meat there was was tough and overcooked. Sawing was required to separate the ribs. I finished my rack, but my wife gave up picking at hers. The server asked her if she wanted a box for the leftovers, but she declined.
I complained to the server about sparse meat and tough ribs. She apologized and said she would tell the kitchen. Two half rack ribs $13.95 each.
For a restaurant with "grill" in it's name, one would expect decent ribs. These rated poor! Based on our overall dining experience, this is a place to be skipped.
