We would be better off if all politicians would just stay out of it and let the military do there job. The war would have been over a long time ago but politicians are lawyers and we all know what lawyers do.

I have been watching the Memorial Marathon on the American Movie Channel, and I have to agree with Jerry O'Connell (Sliders, Crossing Jordan). Today, I will find out if everyone I know is a veteran. If they are, I will shake their hand and thank them for what they have done. For the past year, I have been thanking every soldier, sailer, Marine, Reservist and National Guardsman I meet for their service to our country. I was unable to serve, being classified physically unfit, but I did, IMHO, do my bit by serving the citizens of my county as a deputy sheriff. My stepdaughter was a Marine in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, and she felt left out because the Corps did not allow her to fight. However, she did her part by moving tons of supplies (as she said, "Work parties are us." I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy today because our military has sacrificed to insure them. I salute you, one and all.

I agree...I think our military is doing exactly what they are trained to do in the best way possible. As a matter of fact I wish the politicians had listened to the military commanders in the first place concerning troop levels and what is needed to execute operations around the world. My BIG problem is with companies like Haliburton and its susidiaries like Brown and Root who are making a killing off the American taxpayers by getting these "no bid" contracts in conflict areas like Iraq and Afghanistan. My brother will be doing his second tour of duty in Iraq and he tells me that the contractors over there treat and talk to service people like crap like they are some kind of second hand beasts of burden.

i would just hope that politics would untie our troops hands and let them do there job ,,i believe it could all be handled alot faster, would probably be over by now'' but the dems just want to play there head games with our lives,, but in the end we will pay for there stupid little games ,
