DirecTV Inc Informative - DIRECTV HDTV - Installation and Service
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I built a house in Greenville, SC in the summer 2004. When I contracted telepone service from Bell South I was told I could get a discount using DIRECTV as part of my bundle of services. No problem for till 2006 when I decided to change over to HDTV using my new TV. It never worked from August 2006, the repairman changed out my HDTV reciver 3 times and my dish elements once. I spent so much time on the phone with DIRECTV, I thought I was working for them. I must have turn off the receiver hundreds of times so I could get it to work at least for I few minutes. DIRECTV made sure I was paying for the service plus the extra HDTV channels all the time. In March of 2007, I lost my job and I needed to sell my SC house. Finally in February in 2007, another DIRECTV repairman came over and changed out the receiver again, He noticed the receiver did nothing to fix my problem, what about the other repairmen early? So he started to check the DIRECTV installed wiring, well that was the problem all along. In March of 2007 I told DIRECTV I wanted NO new service when I moved. They told me if I send back my HDTV receiver, I would not be charged for early termination fees, bease of their lousy service. Well come May of 2007, I have a collection agency calling me for $250.00 they say DIRECTV states I owe for early termination fees. What is bad about this, DIRECTV has my new address and they never sent me any notice of this fee. My old DIRECTV account on their web site shows zero balance, no note of any fees I owe. I spent a couple of hours on the phone recently talking to DIRECTV Customer Service, various other groups, complaining about the charge and collection agency calling me. Still no progress and I am continually harassed by the collection agency. All I can say is NEVER again will I sude DIRECTV!
