OAK LAWN, ILLINOIS -- My fiance purchased my engagement ring from here. We took it for an appraisal and the ring was worth $120 dollars!! We immediately went and asked for our money back, he agreed, that this sort of thing should have never happened. He sold my fiance the ring for $6000 dollars!! He said we would get the check in the mail in 5-10 business days, we waited 3 and a half weeks, no check. We went back and asked him what was going on and he just simply said he wasn't going to refund us our money! We are going through litigation processes with his store, and comes to find out our attorney informed us he has in his record 5 similar cases... selling fake jewelry!!!

BEWARE of what you buy from them!!

So it sounds like fraud. Have you reported this to the police?

This sounds like something worth discussing with your local district attorney - this is a criminal act, plain and simple. Sic the law on him as well!

I agree with the others and I hope you act FAST! Good luck to you

Yup, this is a serious crime. Got to agree with all the other comments. Thanks for taking the time to warn others.

By all means, contact the County Attorney. This is not only fraudulent practice, but could possibly be prosecuted under RICO as conducting a criminal enterprise.

Thank you for reading my story!! We just hired an attorney who will handle this for us. It's just that this is a frustration and hassle no one should go through. We did contact Oak Lawn Police but they cannot make him pay, a judge has to make him pay. We are also filing a complaint with the BBB... (Better Business B.) If you have any suggestions, comments or questions please do not hesitate to write them.. I will respond about this place quickly.

Wow, LettyG, I've heard of jewelry being sold for more than the actual value but not fake jewelry, especially from what I gather you initially considered a reputable jeweler. You stated in your complaint your attorney informed you the store owner has in his record 5 similar cases. What, if anything, has happened with those cases?
