General Mills Informative - Surprise in the Bag - Gardetos Original Recipe

Review by cas1491 on 2007-05-31
DALLAS, TEXAS -- Two days ago I purchased a bag of Gardetos Original Recipe snack from a vending machine at my work. After eating three quarters of the bag I looked in the bottom to grab the last handful and found to my surprise a bolt with a washer attached that was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. I have tried twice now to contact General Mills the manufacturer and distributor of the product but they will not call me back or email me or anything. It would seem that they would want to know about and it would seem that they would want to do whatever they could to resolve the issue before someone took it public.

Those nuts and bolts must have been unscrewed from the machinery and fell into the the mixing bowl or the conveyer belt.

Evidently they really don't care about someone taking it public--you just did. Did the package have the notation 'iron enriched' on it?

I just reread your post. How do you propose they 'resolve the issue?'

Wow, that's really scary. What if a child had been eating those?

That's horrible. I love those snacks. Thank god, a child didn't get that bag, as Sarah stated.

I am also glad you didn't break a tooth or teeth. Very dangerous.

Well a few cereal boxes have prizes in the box, but if it did not way anything about a prize. I would be careful of the "prize".

I don't think your implied threat is going to get you very far, not to mention that, by posting here, you DID take it public.
