Comcast Corporation Complaint - Happy to be rid of them
STERLING, VIRGINIA -- I had been faithful customer of cable since the late 70's or so with my parents. Had Cablevision when Adelphia took over in my area and was happy with them. Moved out on my own and got Adelphia without hesitation. Superb service! They could do no wrong in my eye. A tad pricey but was very worth it. They finally came out with Braodband and I was the first on my block to get it before the fliers even went out. Never did I have a problem that was quickly and promptly resolved with service credits offered to boot!
Then Adelphia goes under and my area is bought out by Comcast... I move and the tech support argues with me about hooking my machine up without my router to the modem just t initialize it. I simply asked why I had to do it and she would say just do it with no reasoning. After finally getting her to tell me why, I consented. After it was initialized I had no more than 256k speeds when i was paying for 4Mbit by 384k. Multiple calls and several visits later i had no resolution. Demanded someone escalate it and a supervisor looked one more time and found that someone loaded my modem with a 256X256 config file. He reloaded it and my speed went to what I was paying for. Dirty slag deliberately messed with me simply because i questioned instead of being a sheep.
Continuing after all of that, a mysterious $100 charge showed up and no one could explain it. I never paid that as i could not get an explanation. Multiple tickets opened up with no call backs. As ked for my local office to call me and no response. Had to take a day off of work to go there and was simply told, "I don't know sir. You will have to pay it anyways." Grudgingly paid it still with no explanation. Whenever I had to call since September 2006, I have had only 3 pleasant people answer the phone. Even supervisors have been rude and uncaring. You want credit for a outage, SOL. Comcast screws something up, Tough nuggets no credit. Adelphia would give it even if it was not asked for.
I finally got fed up after all of this and on top of it a $40 increase in my bill to boot. I said F Comcast and have now signed up for Dish and DSL. The Dish people have called sveral times since starting the service only to ask how was the install and am I happy with my service and everything. DSL has been slow but I am working on that one. I so can't stand Comcrap and will ensure that I do my best to disuade anyone i know from using Comcrap and hope that I make enough of an impact that they change there tune.
Comcrap, you have lost an ardent follower. I was a sheep for cable and now I have awoken my consumer choice and have divorced you. Good day to you Comcrap criminal!
