Airtran Airways Complaint - Astonished At The Disregard Of Damage To Personal Items.
STL LAMBERT, MISSOURI -- I recently traveled with a group of 25, the flight into our destination seemed normal enough we checked in with no problem. We reached our transfer flight and made it on time. However, when it came time to claim our bags we found damage to several bags in our group. Front pockets torn off and the bags were wet and very very dirty. On the return flight home we were detained at the runway two times, once upon take off and once upon landing. We barely made the connecting flight and when we reached the baggage pick up our luggage was ripped, open, and things were falling out,also several bags were missing completely. When we complained to the csr in the air tran office, she said that they were not responsible for zippers, and that they could not compensate for the items lost due to broken zippers. Over half of the bags that were checked with our group had some sort of damage. I have traveled many many times and I can assure you that I will n e v e r fly with air tran again. The next trip that our group takes we will make sure to choose a reliable and courteous and responsible air line.
This is pure neglect of customer service. It is sad how airlines have no regard for personal items.
* I wonder how they would feel if their bags were open and their personal possessions were lost forever?
