Holiday Inn Complaint - Reservation - reservation cancellation
MESQUITE, TEXAS -- My wife and I had made reservations at Holiday Inn in Mesquite Texas at 7:30pm on a Friday night, to stay the very next day. Saturday about noon we called them to cancel, and were told that they had a 24 hour cancellation policy, and that we were going to be charged the full amount. We asked to speak to the manager, and we explained to him that we had just made the reservations the night before, and that we understood that a fee should be involved, but the full amount was unreasonable. The manager said there was nothing he could do. We tried to call the Holiday Inn reservation line, and they told us that there was nothing they could do, and we needed to contact the local manager. I sent a note to the Holiday Inn complaint line on their website, but no one has attempted to contact us to discuss our situation. In the mean time, I'm stuck with a $107 charge on my credit card for a stay that we didn't make, even though we made the reservation and tried to cancel it within a few hours. Most hotels have a 6pm the same day cancellation policy. So if I were to make a reservation for tonight, and call back in 5 minutes to cancel, I would be charged the full amount according to their policy. All I can say is don't stay with Holiday Inn and you'll be safe. They apparently don't care about customer relations.
