Vonage Complaint - Vonage Is A Scam Artist
I ordered a VOIP phone and Vonage service which did not work from Day One. Voice quality was so poor, calls broke up so badly neither party could hear -- kept losing wireless connection -- hard to program -- primitive features IF it would work, that as soon as I had Vonage, I had no phone at all. Had to run to neighbor's to call 911.
Customer service is in India and I found that each time I called, I got a different person, and a different answer, each time having to start all over describing the problem.
Changing equipment and getting a refund for the non operational phone, similarly, I got a different answer and credit back was conditional upon whatever the person who got that email dreamed up. But in no case were they going to give me a refund for a phone that did not work from Day One.
When I asked for a contact at the company so I could arrange for a shipping authorization to return the phone -- and would not have to start all over with a new person (all email replies anonymous, of course), that was flatly refused.
In exasperation I tried to cancel -- which they refused to accept via email -- the way they had been contacting me, the same email address they had been sending me notices they had dinged my credit card for yet another payment.
Satisfaction guaranteed, they advertise. Crystal clear phone calls. Both are downright lies. Vonage lies. A string and a Dixie cup would provide better service.
Finding a corporate address and officer to direct to is another hurdle. Here are the corporate address and officers and people with names I eventually did find for those who have similar complaints:
