First Foto Growing Family Complaint - Unable to produce my baby's FIRST pictures

Review by Hollers on 2007-06-07
MT.CLEMENS GENERAL HOSPITAL, MICHIGAN -- I was in Mt. Clemens General Hospital, where I had my third child almost 4 weeks ago. I ask the nurse everyday when is someone going to come in and take my sons pictures, they would tell me that the woman comes in the morning and then another nurse told me that she came in at night. The day I was going home I ask my nurse if the woman was coming in and she said I don't but some of the nurses can take them I will have one of them take them. So I filled out all the papers and a nurse came in and took him to get them done this is on may 17th. Two weeks later growing family sent the check back voided that was it just the check. Then on june 6th I get a letter in the mail saying the can not produce my baby's photo. It has been almost a month since they took the pictures, and when you call to check on them they say the receives the order on the 23rd of may and it was mailed out on the 25th of may. So they new since at least the 25th that my baby pictures where not good, but they did not call or send a letter sooner. I could have went back down to the hospital and have them redone, when he was just a week old not 3 1/2 weeks old he is not the same, he has changed, and I can not get that moment back, and I have nothing, and they offer me a six dollar bracelet like that was going to make up for them not have a good employee that shows up and does their job. I called the hospital and spoke with the manger of the birthing center and she said that they have had problems with the woman from growing family and have complained to them and it seems to me that they don't care. They did not even offer me to have them redone, the hospital did but I would not trust them with my pictures again. They did nothing to try to make it better, but offer a six dollar bracelet which was like a slap in the face. Like my baby,s first photo's was not even something worth fixing. I am very up set and I think any consumer that deals with them should stop because they are going to give them a bad name.

I will not have my children pictures taken by them again, and I will tell everyone I know not as well.

I think it would have been easier to let a family member take your baby's pictures.

Same here, number1...They may not have been the "staged" pics that they take at the hospital, but the photos are still priceless.

As a matter of fact the hospitol never took a pic of my daughter.

I never had hospital pics of my daughter, either. They never look good. And to the poster, I really don't think it's in anyone's job description at hospitals to take photos. They're in the business of saving lives, not photography. I don't think it was their obligation to offer a re-take, they're not a portrait studio, and I also think their offer of a bracelet was a very nice gesture. I understand that moments are precious, but in the grand scheme of things, does your baby's hospital picture matter at all?

One would have thought that friends and relatives would have pictures of the baby when he was a week old.

Sorry you did not get your pic's. But if your like us it would have ended up in the drawer with the other 5,000 pictures we no longer know what to do with.

You might want to use a grammar checker next time you post, you lost me a few times along the way.

Buy your own camera for cryin' out loud! Disposables are about 5 bucks!

WOW, they actually do that? take pictures of newborns IN the hospital?? I have had four babies, in four different hospitals, in three different states and never had pictures of any of mine unless I took them myself!! I had no idea the hospital took pictures.

Yes, CrystalSword, as far as I know. It's sort of a staged affair - baby on blanket, etc. Supposed to be professional looking, I guess.

Also, congrats on 4 babies! Yikes! I had a hard enough time with one. (17yo now)

My sister had her third baby also recently. Her husband took their own pictures of the baby, and they look so adorable.

I wouldn't of waited for the hospital to take my baby's picture.

I am not saying that it was the nurse who is at falt. But growing family who takes the pictures, the woman who takes them did not report to her job. I have two other kids who have pictures from the hospital, and when a company takes the pictures you expect them to be done right and if any problems, they would get a hold of you a.s.a.p. I did take pictures but not in the way that they would. Having had them done 2 other times I did not think it would be fair not to get my 3 child's done. But it happened to me, and that is how I feel. I don't like a 6 dollar barcelet can make up for my pictures.
