Applebee's Guest Relations Complaint - Service At Our Local Apple Bee's
MARION, INDIANA -- Recently on Febuary 10, 2001 a group of 13 of us got togeather to go to our local applebees for a night of fun and relaxation. I called our local Applebees at approxamately 5:30pm to inform that we had a large party that wanted to be seated in non smoking and we would be arriving around 9:30pm. We arrived at approxamately 9:15 and saw that no accomodations had been made for us. I personally asked the hostess how long it would be I was told about 10 - 15 minutes. What is the reason of call ahead seating if accomodations cannot be made? As we stood and waited to be seated 10 minutes passed then 15 finally the hostess came over to our group and asked if we would sit in the smoking area we agreed granit I had called many hours earlier and specified NON SMOKING. We are seated and moments later the waitress Terra H. came and took our drink orders, some at the table had soda's some had something from the bar. After a long period of time the soda's came but it was a very long time befor the person's at the table that ordered from the bar recieved thier drinks. I placed the order of Smoothered Grilled Chicken WITHOUT ONIONS, MUSHROOMS OR GREEN PEPPERS ONLY CHEESE. My chicken arrived with onions,green peppers and mushrooms. I told the waitress while she was still at our table that it was wrong she took it from me walked over to the computer came back and said "You didnt tell me that you didn't want mushrooms or peppers on it and i responded by saying "I sure did" the waitress Terra H. rolls her eyes at me and walks away. At this point I was upset and this was becoming more and more of an upleasant dining experience so I got up out of my seat and approched the manager he did take care of my plate and get it changed but that is all he did I believe that something more could of been done. An apology would of been nice. This group comes in there often maby not as many but atleast 6 of us and we would like to continue coming to Applebees but if the service is going to be this way we will take our business elsewhere.Iwould like a reply from guest relations on this problem. If i do not recieve a reply I will forward this letter to our local newspapers public letter box and also to the better business bureau. Customer service is what keeps a business running and if customer service cannot be achieved then the business will fall. Thank you for your help and I will be awaiting your response.
Furthermore: A gratuity was added to our bill that was not deserved... The 15% on parties of 6 or more should be rethought.
