Kentucky Fried Chicken Informative - Charged extra and wasn't told about it
WATERTOWN, WISCONSIN -- Alright besides the fact that KFC sometimes doesn't have chicken ready to serve... I had a coupon for a 10 piece bucket that included 3 large sides and 6 biscuits for 15.99 I order at the drive through... the coupon mentioned that chicken breasts cost a little extra... I ordered all dark meat - extra crispy. When I pull up to the window the guy tells me i owe $17.98. Now I'm an engineer so i did some quick math in my head with a sales tax of 5% this didn't add up. I told him he had the total wrong and it should be less than $17. The manager comes to the window and explains that the 10 piece bucket is a pre-selected mix of white and dark meat and 3 of the 10 pieces are supposed to be wings. Because I ordered all dark i have to be charged an extra .35 per wing I 'upgraded'. When i asked about a credit for the fact I'm downgrading from a breast piece to dark meat she just told me she couldn't do that. I then asked her where an average sap like myself could get educated as to the pricing policy of this 10 piece bucket and the 'pre-mix' she mentioned, and the 'upgrade from a wing' charge and she couldn't provide anything, no hard copy no nothing to back up her story. Sounds like a bunch of false charges in my opinion. Another thing the BBB will be interested in knowing. And a whole slew of other consumer friendly websites.
There are a whole slew of advertising, misinformation wrongs here in this picture. How many poor saps just pay the amount trusting that KFC is legit. how many of those people who pay whatever total is said to them that would have gone elsewhere if they were informed of the extra charge.
