ATTLEBORO, MASSACHUSETTS -- I had purchased a new clothes washer from Sears to replace the one i had as it was leaking water and my washer is located on the second floor of my home. The delivery was excellent however they hooked up my hot and cold water hoses backwards. Then they ran it thru a cycle, told me to leave it until finished - it would take 16 minutes - and then walked out the door. There i was sitting in my office on the first floor and hear water running - looked out an there is a flood of water coming from the second floor. My ceilings which have beautiful 3d plasterwork were all brown streaked from the water leakage. I asked Sears for a repairman to come and check out the installation so that i did not cause issues by using the new washer. They sent a nice repairman out 3 days later who confirmed the hoses were backwards but could not find the problem. So now i have a new expensive washer which i cannot use the hot water only on for fear it will leak again and ceilings which i had to get repaired which no one from Sears could tell me how to get compensation on.
