AC Delco Complaint - AC Delco - Substandard Replacement Parts

Review by akfos05 on 2007-06-11
I had to replace my Air Conditioner Compressor last year, it lasted not even 4 months before the Shaft seal started to leak thus making my Air Conditioning useless. The part itself was under warranty but I had to pay for labor, something I would have not had to do if AC Delco made quality parts. I have been polite and courteous to them and in return they have not cared one iota that they are producing parts that don't last. I have never been more upset by something in my life, and I am not easliy upset. I had no problem paying for everythign the first time but the 2nd time I did. They should have to pay for their lack of quality!!!

Ummmm....why did you go back to AC Delco if they sucked so much?

Believe it or not, you can take any part or vehicle or anything man-made, and you are going to run into parts that do not work as intended. It irritates me when I hear someone make a statement like, "they don't care3 and make parts that don't last." You can take two identical parts off the shelf and install them in vehicles, One may last until the wheels fall off the vehicle, while the other may fail in 1,000 miles. There is no way of knowing. If you want a reliable way of knowing if parts are being made that last, find out how many parts have been made, and how many have failed. This is far more accurate than moaning lousy workmanship because one part did not last as long as you believe it should have. Get a grip.

starlord, I agree with you to a point. If I spend money on a major part on a vehicle, I, too, would expect it to last more than four months. The poster is justifiably upset, but as long as there are consumers with the attitude that sometimes things just don't last very long, there will be no accountability on the part of the manufacturers to produce quality items.
