Manteca Dodge Complaint - Manteca Dodge - Auto Dealership

Review by dfnh on 2007-06-12
MANTECA, CALIFORNIA -- Over the phone they told me they could sell a a truck for $30K. Twenty minutes when I arrive the best price they could give me was $1500 more. They came up with a very lame lie about how the guy I talked to was just fired for truth abuse. They were lazy with financing and lied about that as well. They said with good credit I could get 3.9% for 5 years. Not true. They only gave me one option for financing despite scoring over 800 and it was 6.9 for 5 years. They should be ashamed.

Sounds like typical bait and switch... Hopefully you just walked out the door.

**Sigh** - this is why I only pay cash for vehicles nowadays.

I agree with previous anonymous comment and let me add if you have to borrow money to buy a car/truck then you can't afford it. Never borrow money to buy a depreciating asset.

With the price of new vehicles now days, not everybody can pay cash for a vehicle. Get a loan from a credit union or bank and go with a check to pay cash.

Cash is the only way to pay for something once, well until tax time.

Not everybody has Stew's money. For some people having a car means the difference between getting to work and not earning money to live.

I refused to pay the extra $1500, I left and bought from Elk Grove Dodge and gladly paid $388 more, with better financing. As a business owner, it is better to borrow money for the huge write off.
