Purity Products Complaint - I Want To Cancel - Mail Order Vit/Min , Herbs & Supplements

Mail Order Vit/Min , Herbs & Supplements - Complaint
Review by LadyeHawke on 2007-06-14
PLAINVIEW, NEW YORK -- April 6, I called PurityProducts' Customer Service. After waiting at least 5 minutes, I hung up. I tried again that same day. Waited nearly 10 minutes & finally hung up. April 7, 3:20 PM I emailed PurityProducts informing the company that I wanted to cancel my order. An automatic reply, 6:07 PM, informed me that a Customer Care Representative would reply via email within two business days. Abby replied April 8, 3:33 PM that they had received my request to cancel my SuperSaver order and that it was being processed. April 12, a SuperSaver order arrived. I emailed PurityProducts April 12, 2:50 PM stating again to cancel the order & that an order had arrived. 7:18 PM, I emailed them and asked for the RMA (return merchandise authorization). I have yet to receive a reply. I am disappointed my request to cancel was ignored as the product was sent to my house. Now, my concerns are growing. I will contact my credit card company today (June 14). I have already contacted the Radio station that I heard the Purity Products commercial broadcasted.

Your request to cancel the order was not ignored because they had replied to your emails and Abby did reply stating it was being processed. You may have gotten the order anyways because it was most likely already being shipped to you when they replied. If you don't want the product anymore, then contact them to return it and get a refund.

Also, what do you expect the radio station to do about this or what did they say?

Really, being on hold for 5 or 10 minutes is pretty lightweight as far as phone time is concerned. I've seen some complaints where people actually waited for hours.
And I agree with TNT8385 about the order you received having been sent before they could apply your cancellation request.
On the whole, this complaint seems over the top considering the relatively mild issues.

You want the credit card to void the charges two months after you received the product. I see what you're up to. How long between when you first ordered the product and your first call to them?

You should have refused delivery. Since you accepted, you now have to get it returned, and then hope for a refund. I'm not sure your credit card company will honor your dispute, as you accepted the item.

Hey you got a company to respond to you, that is a lot these days.

As soon as I saw the package on my porch, I emailed Purity Products twice. They have yet to reply. I am recovering from an illness. As such, my energy level is still quite low. The ten minute wait was all that I was able to handle. Since the radio station is running their commercials, they could contact Purity Products. If I were fully recovered, I'd be willing to wait on the phone, for ex. I just want to cancel, that's all. Customer service. I would have appreciated being informed that they couldn't stop this delivery and that it would be the last one. That would have been acceptable.

If you didn't open the package, have whoever delivered it come and pick it up, and have it returned as "Delivery Refused". Then continue on with the process of getting a refund, but at least the company won't be able to argue that you have the product.

My husband went online to the site to read the return policy. The return authorization code which I requested must be written clearly on the return product. We located the order # underneath the package label. We emailed this info to Purity Products. Now, we wait for the RA.

I had the same problem about two years ago. I responded to the free offer (still on radio at this time). Had to sign up for SuperSaver plan to get free sample. Was told that I could cancel any time. Tried to cancel right away when I received free sample. Could not get thru to anyone. No responce to emails. Started receiving shipments. Kept items, unopened and tried to cancel payment via credit card, hoping that would get their attention. They only replied to the credit card company. I finally noticed the label on another product had the same address but different Company. When I contacted them, they stated they were not the same Company but would try to help. They got the shipments stopped and I sent the prev. shipments back for full credit. Took 6 months. Good Luck. So much for "free samples"

The above complaint does not seem to be resolved, as stated in the caption. In the mean time, Purity Products has added a new wrinkle to their modus operandi: They ship the product to an alternate address of the company and charge the customer.

I sent them a registered letter with a copy of the
USPS tracking info and demanded my money back.

No response. The next step is a complaint to the Postal Inspector, alleging mail fraud, with a request to deny the company the use of the mails as a defrauding tool.

I urge everybody to complain to the Postal Service. Perhaps this will take care of the problem.
