Best Price Cameras Complaint - Buyer BEWARE - Digital Camera

Review by Raymona on 2007-06-14
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- My husband and I bought a digital camera (Canon Powershot G7) from Best Price Cameras. The price online is very enticing, but beware you will not get that price in the end. Also, promos they add in for specials, are not honored. Also, when they way deluxe case, they mean a case that your camera will not fit into. After much debating, I was informed that we did not qualify for the weekend special because we were TALKED into buying the PRESIDENTIAL package, and even though the weekend special says free with any package purchase they said I do not qualify. Also, when I said my first order was $409.00, but you can't just buy online, someone has to speak with you and confirm, which by the end cost $765.00. I asked the CSR what was so great about the presidential package, he advised......that I got the cardboard box the camera comes in. I could not believe my ears. SO BUYER BEWARE...go to Sam's or Walmart and get your camera. NOTE: They will not answer any emails.

A camera store has something called the Presidential package? I thought that was reserved for Monica Lewinsky.

They do suck Ramona if it's the same outfit from Brooklyn. I wrote a complaint here also about them only I dealt with the Infinity Camera version website. Same jerks.

Please don't tell me they talked you into buying a $409 camera for $765. If they did, and you paid it, you deserve whatever you get.

I agree Adzidek. It's one thing to promise something to a cutomer and not deliver, but if you were "Talked" into something you didn't need or necessarily understand or want...that's on you.

Most of the online camera stores run the same scam. The prices are low only because that's for the camera only. Things like the battery, strap, battery charger and the box itself are extra, much extra. Take a look at the warranty. There's a good chance it's not for the US. That means any warranty repairs will have to be sent to another country, probably back to Canon in China or where ever it was made. If you need warranty service be prepared to wait 3-4 months.
