Budget Rent-a-Truck Complaint - Terrible customer service
When I picked up the truck in Vegas I was not told where the drop off location in my destination city (Long Beach) was. I didn't think anything of it, I had already printed out a google map with several budget locations in Long Beach on it.
So when I arrived at my destination and unloaded the truck, I filled it up and headed to the nearest Budget location listed on google maps. Turns out that that location, and two others nearby, were closed down and had become other businesses. I found this out only after spending a considerable amount of time and gas driving around.
When I finally looked at my paperwork I noticed the drop off location was on there. After arriving at the drop off location, I was told I'd have to re-fuel the truck again even though less than 1/16th of the tank was used (needle was BARELY below F). Furthermore, when I picked the truck up this was the fuel level, so I figured they weren't that picky.
But the rep said he'd have to charge me $25 if I didn't fill it all the way up. Keep in mind none of this would have happened had the rep in my pickup city had simply told me that the dropoff location was on the contract. I angrily drove down to the gas station and put LITERALLY $5 worth of gas in this truck which is a mosster and takes $85 to fill up (as I write this gas here in Long Beach is $3.29/gallon)
What kind of company, after messing a customer up by not telling him everything he needs to know, then proceeds to further insult him by insisting he put a TINY bit of gas in the truck??
Worst customer service ever, I will never rent from these guys again.
I forgot to mention that the truck was not in very good condition. It needed a wheel balance badly (steering wheel had shimmy), the front left turn signal was out, and the tires were balding.
